Climate Action Lab
A multi-week student leadership pilot
Climate Action Lab supports schools that want to seed student leadership around cafeteria sustainability.
Rather than launching a permanent program, this lab offers a short, structured pilot where students practice leading a small action and learn what it takes to engage peers during lunch.
The focus is not on teaching climate science. Students already bring that knowledge. The lab develops leadership skills such as:
- organizing peers
- communicating clearly
- testing ideas and adapting
- reflecting on participation
Why schools choose this lab
- Low-risk pilot
- Clear timeframe
- Supports both new and emerging student leaders
- Complements existing sustainability efforts
Format
- 4-6 weekly sessions
- Spring cohort builds for Earth Day, April 22
- Fall cohort builds for America Recycles Day, Nov 15
