Audio Visual Tech Interns Wanted
Cafeteria Victories creates real-world experiences that help students build skills, confidence, and portfolio-ready work for internships, college, and career applications.
We invite students in grades 6-12 to apply for a multimedia internship supporting Cafeteria Victories online workshops. This is a practical opportunity for students to be recognized for their skills while contributing to a cause they care about.
Students do not need to be perfect or highly experienced. We are looking for students who are responsible, curious, willing to learn, and excited to use their tech or media skills in support of environmental action.
What Interns Will Help With
Student multimedia interns may support online workshops by helping with:
- Assisting attendees who have technical difficulties joining the online session
- Monitoring a Cafeteria Victories email account during events to help students who need support
- Coordinating breakout rooms
- Sharing slides during the workshop
- Serving as DJ for one audio-only song
- Sending Cafeteria Victories chat messages
- Starting and stopping recordings
- Restarting recordings after breakout rooms when needed
- Monitoring chat for Q&A and announcing questions by reading the attendee’s display name
- Monitoring chat for presenter feedback and noting topics after reactions
Some roles require special responsibility. For example, only one admin can control breakout rooms, so that role will be assigned carefully.
What Students Will Gain
Interns will gain real-world experience in:
- Online event support
- Multimedia production
- Communication and teamwork
- Technical troubleshooting
- Workshop facilitation
- Professional responsibility
- Supporting environmental education
This experience can help students develop assets and stories they may include in a portfolio for internships, college applications, career applications, clubs, or future leadership opportunities.
Requirements
Interns must have:
- Their own laptop
- A location free from distraction during online events
- The ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
- A willingness to learn through real responsibility
This could become a multi-year internship for students who are a strong fit and want to continue growing with Cafeteria Victories.
Schedule
Interns will support periodic online events hosted for youth attendees nationwide.
Events typically take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, with most events happening on Wednesdays.
Training and Events usually run from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM Pacific Time.

- A brief summary of any relevant experience
- Most importantly, why they are excited about the role
Students should not spend too much time worrying about making their email perfect.
I am a California credentialed teacher. I understand this may be a student’s first job application ever. My role is to meet students where they are and help propel them forward.
Students will not be disqualified for imperfection. We have not declined to interview a student based on their initial expression of interest. The most important criteria are authenticity, enthusiasm, self-awareness, and a willingness to recognize and build on their strengths.
